Modem Speed Matching is a problem. You don't want kermit to match speeds
with the modem. You want it to stay at whatever value works.
That is the default for Kermit.
The modem may be programmed to switch it's serial port speed depending on
connection speed. That's not good. It doesn't allow a high speed modem to
do the buffering that it's capable of doing.
That's the default for Procomm.
Of course, Procomm defaults to matching the text string passed back by the
modem, so it often switches when it shouldn't, so after you fixed the
modem, by locking it's serial speed, you'll need to change the setting in
Procomm as well.
